Dr. John Moenning has been a practicing surgeon for over 30 years. He has served the patients of Charlotte County since 1979 after relocating from Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon his arrival to Charlotte County, Dr. Moenning was the first general surgeon to perform endoscopic procedures. With his focus on outpatient procedures, Dr. Moenning performs General Surgery and Endoscopic Procedures at HarborSide. Dr. Moenning strives to remain on the "cutting edge" of new surgical techniques, and has most recently been trained in "Sentinel Node Biopsy" for breast cancer surgery.

Since 2000, Dr. Moenning has served as Governor of the Florida Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He has spent a good amount of time informing members of Congress in Washington D.C. on issues facing physicians and especially those doctors who have developed their own surgery centers as an economic alternative for the Medicare system.
